Anxiety and depression are a huge problem in our population. Over the past 20 years I have seen it escalate higher and higher. A lot of times people are really stuck between medications that have side effects, or not wanting to use medication, or their medications are not enough. One of the first problems with medication is we are nutrient depleting when we use them. If you do take a pharmaceutical for those, and I’m not against that. Sometimes you get providers that are anti this and anti that. It’s a specialized look at what you need and looking at you as a whole. So does the approach get to be nutritional? Is it how people are thinking? Is it the emotional status? Is it a spiritual problem? For some people there’s a lot of stuff that comes into treating anxiety and depression that needs to be looked at as a whole. So rarely do we look at people and include different factors. The style that I like to incorporate with the people that I see for anxiety and depression is sometimes we do use Pharmaceuticals and sometimes I use hormone replacement and sometimes we use a full evaluation of labs. For other people there are nutrients that we can give that significantly improve anxiety and depression. They’re safe. People don’t realize this. There are some approaches that we can take to improve treating the side effect or change the medication very gently and very gradually. We want to support you and your healing and not go against really any one style as so many people do. But how do we do it safely? Instead of going to the store and picking up herbs that can interact with some of these medications, let’s get smart about what we do and let’s get help with the anxiety and depression that you may be experiencing and feel better.
